Senate Hearing on the Future of Public Access TV

Media Policy Blog writes:

"The Senate Commerce Committee met this morning to debate about whether video providers should be required to go through national, state or local video franchising. Cable Companies, Telephone Companies, Public, Education and Government Access Channels as well as concerned citizens all over the country were tuned into this discussion about the future of the industry. Many of the Senators and industry representatives indicated that national franchising is the solution to bring broadband deployment and video services to the general public."

Was the public served during this discussion? You decide.
